Exodus 12:13
2010 THEME:USE GOOD JUDGMENT!

BISHOP EUGENE S. JOHNSON, SENIOR PASTOR

Bishop Eugene S. Johnson prefers to be appreciated as a holiness preacher and pastor who was reared in the firmness and fever of "the old time way." He is a progressive minister, who maintains a godly compassion for souls and holds fast to the precepts of the apostolic faith and cherishes the dynamic power of the gospel.

In 1983, Bishop Johnson co-founded with his wife, Executive Pastor Carolyn Johnson, Madison Pentecostal Assembly of Madison, Wisconsin. He shares that his relationship with his wife and companion of over 33 years has had the most profound impact upon him. He rejoices in the Lord for his family which also consists of four children and eight grandchildren.

Bishop Johnson was saved at the age of 14 and credits his three  outstanding and God-fearing pastors for helping to shape his life and  ministry. He served faithfully under the late Bishop Gary Hunt of Greater  Apostolic Faith Temple of Memphis, TN (1961-1969 and 1976-1983), District   Elder Leroy Chappelle of the Church of Jesus Christ in Los Angeles, CA  (1969-1974), and the late District Elder Clem Humphrey of Grace Apostolic Church in Washington, D.C. (1974-1976).

Bishop Johnson has been very active within the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, working at the local, state, regional and national levels for the International Pentecostal Young People's Union, the International Christian Education Association and the Foreign Missions Board.

By God's grace, Madison Pentecostal Assembly has become well-known locally as one of the City of Madison's most vibrant, culturally diverse, and spirited churches; and yet the city itself is not regarded as being a fertile and nurturing environment for successfully planting an apostolic church.

Buttressed by an energetic and enthusiastic staff of ministers and a solid church administration, Bishop Johnson is enabled to maintain a ranking position in state government as Director of the Bureau of Equity and Environmental Services with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Bishop Johnson was called into the ministry while in Washington D. C. and ordained an Elder in 1983 and a District Elder in 1966. He was elevated as Bishop in 2005. He was graduated from LeMoyne-wen College in Memphis with a  Bachelor of Art Degree in Economics and UCLA Graduate School of Management with a Master of Science Degree in   Urban Land Economics.
